Blanka Amezkua’s Residency

Blanka worked mainly around Assomati School, which is an old farming school and an abandoned monastery. She focused on in situ works based on the idea of space and more specifically the corner, using light materials, such as pipe cleaners and straws. She would photograph them and be photograph with them and then remove them, as she was very conscious of not altering anything and totally respecting the surroundings. She also created some collage works of smaller size, using several types of paper, tape and lettering, inspired by a byzantine technique of embossing.
